Squash and racketball

Waverley has two excellent, immaculate, traditional squash courts, of as high a standard as any in the country. The courts have proper Armourcoat plaster on the walls and sprung wooden floors. They are kept warm by the popular Ambirad heating system and nice and bright by top-grade fluorescent lighting.  There is a classic viewing gallery upstairs – with a nice wooden balcony to thump your hand on for loud applause and a great atmosphere!

The squash courts are used for both squash and racketball.

Waverley is affiliated to Scottish Squash and Racketball and the East of Scotland Squash and Racketball Association.

Furthermore, we run a team handicap Summer squash league in the off-season. Our mini-leagues are now online at SportyHQ

Racketball

Waverley members use the two fantastic Squash courts to play Racketball. This game suits beginners to the game of Squash as well as those members who’s knees are starting to give them grief! It equally provides a challenge for experienced Squash players and is a great leveller and fitness tester!

Turn up and mix-in social racketball sessions are held on Tuesdays at 7pm, year round. everyone is welcome and rackets are provided if needed.

Waverley enters a social summer league and plays against several other clubs across the East of Scotland. Great for keeping up the competitive edge in the Squash off season and great fun too! A number of members play in the Racketball Around Scotland Tour (RASTA) Individual competition and more players are welcome.

The club holds an annual tournament, format varying depending on numbers, but usually in a league format with the top two in each league progressing to the semi-finals. There is also a club ladder to keep everyone on their toes!
