Squash is doing well at Waverley at the moment, but we wouldn’t say no to more! Lots of things coming up in the next couple of months for you to get stuck into!
Firstly, for the juniors, we have the second round of league matches starting this weekend and continuing over the next three months as well as the Big Shot events taking place on the second Saturday of each month. The next on the 12th December! Check out the ESSA Calendar here for the full picture and get involved!
There is also the fantastic Edinburgh Sports Club 50/50 Junior Open in December. Full details at the link here.
For adult squash players, the teams are performing well this year, with a huge pool of players for our four teams which is a fantastic position to be in. There are also non-league conference matches coming up for those outside the teams who want to play some new faces at different clubs! If you want to take part, get in touch with Neil or see the posters at the club!
Also the Grange Open takes place on the first weekend in December. Get your entries in now! Click here for the full details and entry form!
Finally, back at Waverley, there will be a big Squash social at the club sometime before Christmas, all welcome. Full details to follow! (sorry, no link to this one yet!)

Hello everyone! Been a bit quiet on the Website front thanks to a small issue with photo uploads! That’s all taken care of now and we can get back to the business of playing and promoting Tennis and Squash!
The Squash season has kicked off with a bang – the ladies first team winning both their matches and the men’s seconds all theirs! The first and third mens teams are well positioned in their leagues as well! All the standings can be seen here – SportyHQ East of Scotland league standings
Mini-leagues on-line have been introduced and seem to be a hit with players able to contribute towards their national ranking points by playing these games and recording them (or any other challenge match for that matter!)
In Tennis, the Aegon Team matches have reached a conclusion with the Men struggling this year and probably dropping a division and the ladies picking up a couple of wins over Edinburgh University but going down in the other matches. Better luck next year guys!
Meanwhile, the Mens Vets team finished mid-table in Division 3 and the Ladies finished top of Division 2 winning all their matches! A challenge on the title awaits!
The Charlie Grant tournament was held at the club on 17th October and the winner was Peter Bloomfield – full report on the noticeboard in the club! Congrats Peter!
That’s it for the latest up date. Will be back with more sooner than the last time.
See you on court!
The Sun came out at the weekend for the tennis club finals weekend, with a total of 13 finals taking place over the two days generic cialis 100mg.
The days action began early, with a 10.30am start for the 12 and Under events, with 8 entrants this year making the most of the conditions. There was a mix of regular players and completely new, with most of the kids in the Waverley Tennis Academy. A great range of ages as well from 8 to 12! The final came down to the oldest player in the draw, Seb Morawiecki and the very talented Angus Ivory. Seb’s greater depth of hitting proved the stronger on the day, with a solid victory.

Just a little reminder to all our members signed up to British Tennis Membership (BTM) about the Wimbledon Ticket ballot!
This year, BTM’s need to declare their interest in the ticket ballot and clubs affiliated to the LTA will be allocated tickets based on how many members declare an interest! To that end, we are urging all BTM’s at Waverley to log in to their account on the LTA website and “opt-in” for the ballot.
British Tennis Membership ,if you don’t already know, is free for anyone in an affiliated club like Waverley and you can simply search for “Join British Tennis” and follow the instructions!
Current members can log in to the LTA site by clicking here – https://www2.lta.org.uk/Login/
Even if you aren’t planning to go, every person opted in could help someone else in the club!
