Waverley has two excellent, immaculate, traditional squash courts, of as high a standard as any in the country.
Proper Armourcoat plaster on the walls, sprung wooden floor. They’re kept warm by the popular Ambirad heating system and nice and bright by top-grade fluorescent lighting. And there’s a classic viewing gallery upstairs – with a nice wooden balcony to thump your hand on for loud applause and a great atmosphere!
Waverley is affiliated to Scottish Squash and Racketball and the East of Scotland Squash and Racketball Association.
Adult and Junior Coaching is available for individuals and groups by arrangement with Dave Ferguson on 07963 744717 or at email@example.com
Team and Individual Matches
Waverley enters teams in as many of the ESSA competitions as possible. Currently we have 2 Ladies and 4 Open teams in the East Leagues which allows for a wide range of standards. We use SportyHQ to track our league standings – take a look at our club page here!
A large number of our Senior members take part in the Masters competitions around Scotland throughout the season and we also enter a team in the Annual Octoberfest at Edinburgh Sports Club. There are also a number of local tournaments players can enter if they wish including the Grange Open, the Abercorn Open and the Edinburgh Open as well as the ESSA Open Championships.
Scottish Squash and Racketball also run a number of events for adults and juniors alike, their full calendar of events is available on their website – just click here!
Junior Matches and Activity
Waverley enters a team in the Junior East of Scotland leagues each year. All standards are encouraged to take part. There are also a number of Big Shots events held around the East of Scotland throughout the season (usually one a month) which are great for newer players to the game. Full details are at the club and are e-mailed out to members. Further to that, Scottish Squash organise a number of events which can be found on the link in the section above. Junior Coaching is available by arrangement with Dave.
The Club Championships are held towards the end of the Squash season in March/April. We also have a number of mini-leagues running throughout the year on a monthly cycle and club ladders – one for everyone, one for Ladies and one for Juniors. Furthermore, we run a team handicap Summer squash league in the off-season. Our mini-leagues are now online at SportyHQ
